In the face of a strong wave of digital transformation, technology and artificial intelligence (AI) are becoming core factors in innovating teaching and learning methods at higher education institutions. At the seminar with the topic “Innovating teaching and learning methods to adapt to the development of technology and artificial intelligence”, Dr. Pham Xuan Lam - Head of Information Technology Department, College of Technology, National Economics University - gave an insightful presentation on the application of AI in compiling textbooks and building smart lectures.

The presentation focuses on clarifying the remaining limitations in the current process of compiling and using textbooks such as: slow progress, lack of updated content, limited interaction and difficulty controlling students' access to learning materials. To solve these problems, the SmartDoc system has been developed - this is an AI-integrated platform to support lecturers in building lectures, textbooks and more effective classroom management.
SmartDoc allows input from many different sources (such as Word, Google Docs, websites...), uses AI to support content creation, convert textbooks into lecture slides, and automate tasks such as grading. grading, collecting, evaluating, and detecting plagiarism. The system also supports checking editing errors, creating a table of contents and automatically publishing books - helping to reduce manual processing time and increase the professionalism of teaching materials.
SmartDoc has now been practically deployed in many subjects such as Web, Java, Python... with impressive results: 2 textbooks have been published in 2023 and 7 other textbooks have completed registration for publication in 2023. 2025.
