International conference: Smart operations management 2025

On December 20 and 21, the international conference "Smart Operations 2025" will take place at the National Economics University. The conference is an important academic event, serving as an international forum gathering scholars, collaborators and colleagues from many leading universities around the world, to exchange academics and share new research results in the fields of Operations management, supply chain management (logistics optimization), and Operations research.

International Conference “Smart Operations 2025”.

A prominent content of Smart Operations 2025 is the recognition and gratitude for Professor Suresh Sethi's contributions to the development of operations management science.

During his academic career, the Professor has published 11 books and more than 400 research works, honored by many prestigious professional associations such as IEEE, INFORMS, SIAM, POMS and AAAS. He served as President of the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS) in 2012, and was awarded many prestigious awards, including the IITB Distinguished Alumni Award and the Alumni Achievement Award from Carnegie Mellon University.

Professor Sethi's profound academic influence has been recognized through international tribute conferences held at Aix-en-Provence (2005) and the University Texas in Dallas (2006), with the participation of Professor Harry M. Markowitz - Nobel Prize in Economics in 1990. In particular, since 2025, the POMS Association has established the Suresh Sethi “Best Interdisciplinary Paper Award” 

This year's conference has 10 regular talks and 03 main talks (plenary talks) by leading professors in the field:

1. Plenary Talk 1 - Distributionally Robust Optimization in Inventory and Supply Chain Management - Keynote speaker: Prof. Chung Piaw Teo, National University of Singapore, Singapore.

2. Plenary Talk 2 – Field Research in Management Science on a Large-Scale Multimodal AI Platform. Keynote speaker: Prof. Jiang (Tony) Duan, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, China.

3. Plenary Talk 3 - Navigating the Future: Business Analytics and Disruptive Tech Trends in Information Systems, Operations Management, and Related Domains. Keynote speaker: Prof. Subodha Kumar, Temple University, USA.
