Students from the College of Technology won first prize in the Northern preliminary round of the 2025 Vietnamese Student AI Olympiad

In this year's Vietnam Student AI Olympiad 2025 (OLPAI'2025), team NEU-LINH from the College of Technology, National Economics University (NEU) excellently won the first prize, becoming the Northern qualifying champion. The team includes students: Bui Duy Anh, Nguyen Hoang Ha (Faculty of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence) and Nguyen Ngoc Phi (Faculty of Information Technology), under the professional guidance of lecturers from Business AI Lab.

Following the success of the first stage "Sync Up", the TECHERA 2025 journey officially enters stage 2 - "Hacrabon" (Handcraft - Bond). At the International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV 2025) in Hawaii (USA), a research team including AI engineers from VNPT Group and lecturers from the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, College of Technology - National Economics University excellently won the Champion prize in the category "Processing and recognizing objects from ultra-wide-angle camera image data at edge devices (Edge AI)" within the framework of AI City Challenge 2025 - one of the The world's leading prestigious competition on artificial intelligence applications in smart cities. This victory followed the success of 2024, when the research team achieved the highest position at the CVPR 2024 Conference, continuing to affirm the "Make in Vietnam" technological capacity among more than 30,000 competing teams from AI powers around the globe.

Edtech-Lab Metaverse overview and applications in education NICE-TEAS ASIA 2025

Metaverse, an experiential digital environment, is expected to open up new approaches to teaching and learning. According to Yeganeh, Fenty, Chen, Simpson, and Hatami (2025), Metaverse can create realistic simulated learning environments, helping learners deeply understand complex concepts and apply knowledge in real-world contexts. Popov, Mateju, Jeske, and Lewis (2024) highlight the significant potential of the Metaverse in medical education, providing students with a safe, controlled environment to practice clinical techniques before working with real patients. Some research also shows that Metaverse can support the development of key skills such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and problem solving — core competencies in contemporary education (R. Damaševičius, 2024). According to Hwang and Chien (2022), Metaverse can promote student learning motivation through highly interactive, immersive experiences, while allowing learners to perform hands-on activities without being limited by physical space or standard teaching materials.
