Strengthening international cooperation in the field of technology (1): College of Technology visits and works with the University of Adelaide (Australia)

From July 7 to 11, 2025, the National Economics University (NEU) organized an official business trip to three prestigious universities in Australia, including: University of Adelaide, Swinburne University of Technology and Macquarie University. The working group was led by Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong - University Director - with the participation of key leaders from departments, schools and faculties. In particular, the business trip had the presence of Dr. Nguyen Quang Huy - Principal of the College of Technology, along with leaders of four faculties: Faculty of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Faculty of Statistics, Faculty of Management Information Systems and Faculty of Information Technology.

On July 7, 2025, the College of Technology's delegation visited and worked at the University of Adelaide, Australia - one of NEU's important strategic partners in the field of international research and training.

Welcoming and working with the delegation were Professor Jessica Gallagher - Vice Rector in charge of International Cooperation, along with leaders of the School of Economics and Public Policy, Machine Learning Institute, College of Technology and Computer Science of the University of Adelaide.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed details about the plan to organize an international conference on sustainable development, expected to take place in August 2025. In addition, key cooperation contents were also discussed and agreed to be promoted, including: exchange of lecturers and students; Collaborative research in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductor industry, digital transformation, data science, machine learning, and statistical mathematics.

During the business trip, the delegation visited the Australian Machine Learning Research Institute located at the University of Adelaide and the Semiconductor Research Institute - Australia's leading research facilities in high-tech fields. The University of Adelaide representative highly appreciated the significance of the visit and affirmed that the National Economics University is an important strategic partner in Vietnam. The two sides commit to promoting cooperation in research activities, exchanging scholars and researchers, supporting the improvement of teaching capacity for lecturers, implementing transfer programs and credit recognition in technology fields.

The University of Adelaide was established in 1874 and is one of Australia's eight leading universities (Group of Eight). According to the 2025 QS Rankings, the University of Adelaide ranks 82nd among the best global universities. The school is famous for its key training fields such as management, information technology and engineering.

The National Economics University and the University of Adelaide have established strategic cooperation for many years, especially in the fields of scientific research, international training, faculty capacity improvement and student exchange. This visit once again affirms the determination of the two schools to further expand and deepen the comprehensive cooperative relationship for the goals of sustainable development and international integration.
