College of Technology students make their mark at ICPC World Finals 2025: Affirming Vietnam's programming position in the international arena
College of Technology - National Economics University (NEU) would like to congratulate the NEU.gugugaga student team for successfully completing the competition at the International Student Programming Finals ICPC World Finals 2025, held in Baku city, Azerbaijan.
Team NEU.gugugaga includes three excellent students from class EP16B K66, Faculty of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence: Nguyen Duc Thang, Nguyen Tung Lam, Lai Minh Quang. Accompanying the students are two enthusiastic coaches - Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hoang and Mr. Vu Duc Minh, lecturers of the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. NEU.gugugaga is one of three teams representing Vietnam to participate in this year's ICPC finals - the most prestigious and fierce programming competition for students globally.
ICPC World Finals 2025 brings together 139 of the world's strongest teams, from leading universities such as Harvard, MIT, Cambridge, Tokyo Institute of Technology... At this intellectual playground, the NEU.gugugaga team demonstrates outstanding bravery and ability by successfully solving 6 out of 12 highly difficult math problems, and at the same time achieving an overall ranking of 68.
This achievement is impressive especially when NEU's team surpasses many prestigious universities such as Indian Institute of Technology (rank 72), École Polytechnique (rank 77), or University of Melbourne (rank 88). Notably, NEU.gugugaga was also honored in the Honors group - a group of teams with high achievements at the competition, ranked with major universities such as University of Chicago, University of Hong Kong, University of British Columbia and University of Toronto.
NEU.gugugaga's success is the result of a thorough training process and proper strategic orientation in developing technology industries of the College of Technology - NEU. At the same time, this is also the result of close guidance from the School's Board of Directors and timely support from functional departments, creating maximum conditions for students to develop their abilities and confidently conquer international playgrounds.
Once again, congratulations to the NEU.gugugaga team - the pride of the College of Technology, the Faculty of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, and the National Economics University! This achievement not only contributes to affirming NEU's position on the international academic map, but also opens up new expectations for the future of data science and artificial intelligence in Vietnam.
