On the morning of July 23, 2025, the National Economics University held a meeting and encouraged Team NEU.gugugaga before officially leaving to attend the Global Finals of the International Student Programming Competition ICPC World Finals, taking place from August 31 to September 6, 2025 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
This is the first time a team from the College of Technology - National Economics University has won the right to participate in the world's most prestigious playground for programming for students - demonstrating the School's strong progress in training and developing information technology talent, especially in the context of digital transformation and deep international integration.

Attending the meeting were: Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong - University Director; Dr. Nguyen Quang Huy - Principal of the College of Technology; Dr. Le Anh Duc - Head of Training Management Department; Associate Professor, Dr. Ha Minh Hoang - Head of the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence; together with representatives of leaders of units, socio-political organizations, lecturers and members of the NEU.gugugaga team.
Before winning the right to participate in the Global Finals, team NEU.gugugaga excellently ranked 16/65 at the ICPC Asia Pacific Championship 2025 held in Singapore in early March. This is a tournament that brings together the strongest teams in the Asia-Pacific region, from countries such as Korea, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. A special highlight in the journey to conquer the tournament is that NEU.gugugaga is one of only seven teams to solve problem F - a problem with extremely high difficulty (rated 4.5 stars), requiring sophisticated algorithmic thinking, effective teamwork and excellent solving strategies.
The NEU.gugugaga squad includes three outstanding students from the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence - College of Technology, including: Nguyen Duc Thang, Lai Minh Quang, Nguyen Tung Lam. All three students are studying in the Artificial Intelligence class, Course 66, College of Technology. With a solid academic foundation, sharp logical thinking and outstanding problem-solving ability, all three have shown outstanding bravery and abilities, becoming typical representatives of the generation of Vietnamese students who are dynamic, confident and ready to conquer the pinnacle of knowledge on the international stage.
At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong, on behalf of the University's pedagogical team, sent good wishes to the team members. He emphasized the students' belief in the bravery, spirit of solidarity and desire to conquer the peak of knowledge, and expected the team to bring about brilliant achievements, contributing to enhancing the School's position on the global academic map.

Representative of the team and student Lai Minh Quang also sent his deep thanks to the Board of Directors and teachers for always accompanying, supporting and creating maximum conditions for the learning and exam preparation process. On behalf of the team, Quang affirmed his determination to compete with the highest spirit, continue to make efforts, unite and overcome all challenges to be worthy of the school's trust and expectations.

Attending the ICPC World Finals is an important milestone in the College of Technology's journey of developing young technology talent. This is not only an opportunity to assert oneself, but also a bridge for students to approach advanced technology trends, academic exchanges with friends from all over the world, contributing to affirming the integration capacity, confidence and aspirations of the young generation of Vietnam in the digital era..
